Fractional Product Leadership

Working directly with your product management teams and company leaders to solve problems like:

  • Setting up a new product management team from scratch and setting them up for success.

  • Advocating for product management as a practice within an organisation that does not understand it.

Fees start at £1,000 + VAT per day. Typical engagements are 3-9 months.

Organisational Action Plans

A deep dive into how your company works and how it builds products. The goal is to provide more than just a simple analysis, but to provide a prioritised, actionable set of best next steps for you to improve in the areas that are holding you back the most.

The process:

  • Review all available existing strategic, commercial, product and organisational documentation.
  • Interview every member of the leadership team (C-suite or business unit leaders).
  • Interview every functional leader (engineering, design, sales, marketing, operations etc).
  • Interview every member of the product management team.
  • Synthesise the results, prepare a report with prioritised actions and present to the leadership team.

In some cases, these engagements turn into fractional roles to help implement the change, but there is no requirement and these are designed to be standalone where required.

Fees start at £10,000 + VAT and depend on the size of the company.

Group Coaching

Training is great, but people often seem to forget most of it when they walk out the door. Through group coaching, we can help to combine the best product knowledge with the contextual understanding of the team’s specific challenges to get the best results.

The approach:

  • Alignment with the business sponsor to understand their goals alongside business objectives.
  • 1:1 intro calls with every participant to get to know them as well as understand their context and any known challenges.
  • A full or half-day workshop on the topic at hand, on-site or remote (depending on preference).
  • A fixed number of periodic follow-up calls with the team to check in, find out how they’ve been using the learnings, and suggest any course corrections or new approaches.
  • A final wrap up with the team to talk about their learnings and potential next steps.

Coaching topics are necessarily varied, but some example previous topics include:

Fees start at £500 + VAT per participant.

Individual Coaching

Sometimes, people need the individual approach. Optimised for leaders, or senior ICs intending to become leaders, individual coaching can help give people space to talk through their contextual challenges, reframe their thinking and inspire them to deliver exceptional success. Too often, product leaders find themselves struggling to make an impact and have no one to turn to. Through coaching, we can unblock them and make them the best leaders they can be.

The approach:

  • Free chemistry call to make sure there’s a good fit.
  • Monthly (or more) 1:1 sessions with follow-up notes.
  • Unlimited e-mail support between sessions.
  • 6-month review and go/no go for renewal.

Fees start at £500 + VAT per month.

Team Talks

If you need a light-touch shot in the arm to motivate a team or inspire it to think differently, let’s discuss an in-person or virtual team talk about a topic that interests you.

The approach:

  • Review topic with the company sponsor
  • Align on expectations and any red flags
  • Create and deliver the talk
  • Live Q&A afterwards (I’m happy to take any questions by email if we can’t cover them all)

Fees start at £500 + VAT depending on the size of the team.
